Harlaxton Medieval Symposium 2025: Yorkist History Trust Scholarships

As part of our Ruby Anniversary celebrations, the Trust is delighted to be funding five PGR/ECR bursary places for this year’s Harlaxton Medieval Symposium.

The Symposium has been held annually (with a short exception during Covid-19) since 1984, and is an inter-disciplinary gathering of medievalists with programme of papers around a given theme. The proceedings of each year are published in the peer-reviewed Harlaxton Medieval Studies series by Shaun Tyas (who also publishes Trust volumes). The Yorkist Age: Proceedings of the 2011 Harlaxton Medieval Symposium, edited by Hannes Kleineke and Christian Steer, was a joint Harlaxton and Yorkist History Trust publication.

Each year the Symposium funds two Dobson Scholarships for postgraduate and early career researchers whose research closely aligns with the theme of the Symposium, as well as hosting a PGR/ECR presentation competition. In addition to augmenting the scholarships available this year, the Trust is also sponsoring a drinks reception before the presentations.

The theme of this year’s Symposium is The Medieval City. A full programme and registration details can be found on the Symposium’s website.
